Hi All,

Were any of you on trackdays at Oulton Park on the above dates ?? 7/11/09 was MG's on track and 5/12/09 was Focussed events.

I was photographing so if you were there let me know the car and I might have snapped you in action.

Cheers

Simon

Cheers Steve,

After much deliberating and testing I decided to go back to the Canon route. I have used a Canon Film SLR for the past 20 years but in the last 5 though only used my Fuji digitals. I looked and decided on the Canon 50D twin lens kit (17-85, 70-300 zooms). I tried my mates 40D and was fine with this but it has been superceeded by the 50D. There are other ones out there which are just as good but this one fitted my price bracket and did what I wanted it to. The 500D is also a good buy as it does HD video but only has a 3.5fps burst mode whereas the 50D has 6.2fps. Canon had to be the choice as I can also use my old lenses, bonus  thumb

I like this one, the guy is under hard braking going into cascades, Id like some brakes like that on my car  thumb

IMHO you can't go wrong with Canon, I've been using their stuff for the last 15 years and always been chuffed with the reults. My camera body is the 400D at the mo but would really like to upgrade to a full frame EOS 5D. The only real issue I have is that my lens's don't have image stabilisation so to avoid camera shake when shooting action stuff like motorsport or aircraft, I've got to use a fairly fast shutter speed and risk freezing background/wheels or props on aircraft/helos etc. It's always a fine balancing act but I love the challenge really  Cheesy

I've a gallery with some stuff shot with my 400D here

5d was out of my price range as I needed some new lenses also, 5d Is s a nice beast though maybe in a few more years Ill get a full frame. My new lenses have the image stabilisation and its spot on for the sports / motor racing stuff. When i switch to my older 400mm lens the shake is terrible and I defo need a monopod to get anything half decent.

BTW the photo's of mine above are so noisy because Ive shrunk them down to upload, honest.

Photography can be almost as expensive as running a car, to get the benefit of a 5D I reckon your also into L series glass and you know how much they cost. As a hobby it's difficult for me to justify the costs esp when there is always money needed for cars   Cheesy
